1961

Company Founded

The Chelmer Valve Co Ltd was started by ex Marconi engineer Mr Leslie Ferguson Berry and specialised in Marconi transmitter spares and electron tubes.

Mr Berry set the foundations for a company that now spans six decades.

1978

New Ownership

Harry Rosenbaum an ex Marconi engineer and his wife Colette Rosenbaum, née Berry took over the running of the business.

The business diversified into semiconductors and transistors.

1980

Acquired New Locations

During the 1980’s Harry and Collette accumulated five warehouses full of UK MOD surplus.

2005

Company Acquisition

The Chelmer Valve Co Ltd was acquired by UK Electronic Components Ltd, Imran Khan and Saima Khan, née Anwar. With over 40 years combined experience in the electronics industry gained from working in distribution and contract manufacturing companies.

Company name change to CVC Chelmer Valve Co Ltd.

Obsolete stock purchase from Thales UK, 500,000 parts.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to 5 million parts.

2007

New Premises

Company moved to brand new freehold 45,000 sq ft storage facility on a 40-acre site in Essex.

Acquisition of over 300 pallets of new surplus of UK MOD inventory and five complete Plessey AR 15 Radars plus 1000’s of spares.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to 20 million parts.

2010

New Acquisitions

CVC acquires the complete inventory of Armadillo Electronics.

CVC buys Wilson valves of Huddersfield.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to 25 million parts.

2011

Acquisition of New Inventory

CVC acquires the complete surplus inventory of Martal Industries Israel, over 18 million USA DLA contracted parts with trace back to the USA government.

In stock inventory physical stock increased to 43 million parts.

2012

Further Stock Aquisitions

CVC acquires over 5 million spares from the Royal Norwegian Airforce.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to 48 million parts.

2013

Purchase of Company Assets

Purchased the assets of Austrian company “Eklama Electronic GmbH” from Mr. Heinrich Malzer.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to 51 million parts.

2014

More Inventory Purchases

More smaller inventory purchases. CVC acquired Avonians Ltd from George & Maria Polonski.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to 55 million parts.

2015

Acquired Joscar Approval

Joscar approval for supplying Babcock Engineering.

2017

More Inventory Purchases

CVC acquires the stock of CEM IO Components over 10,000 lines of Rohs compliant commercial stock.

CVC acquires the stock of Smartsell/DTL connectors over 10,000 lines of military connectors with full manufacturer trace.

CVC acquires the company BSL Express Services Ltd www.bslexpress.com from Mr Kamal Babla; ex Plessey Ilford engineer. The company was Originally founded by Dr Maximillian Treister after WW2 to sell excess components left over after the war.

Company name change; BSL Express Services continues to trade as BSL Express Spares Ltd. The purchase included over 20 million naval spares, ownership of over 15000 NATO/NSN numbers and 1000’s of pages of data. Defence Logistics Agency Approval.

2018

New Office Blocks

Construction of new office block.

Purchase of F16, UH-60 and European Space agency spares from Mr Robert Soek of Rimpex BV in Holland.

Chelmer Valve Co Ltd name change to CVC Components Ltd.

In-stock inventory physical stock increased to over 85 million parts.

2019

Company Acquisition

CVC Components acquires Fel Avionics Ltd from Mr Tony Bathard - www.fel-avionics.com

Flextron Engineering Ltd was founded in the 1970’s by Mr Robert Bathard. After diversifying into Aviation spares, the company changed its name to Fel Avionics Ltd in 1976.

In 1991 Tony Bathard the son of the original founder took over the company, teamed with David Rourke as the Marketing Director.

The company now specialises in Ground Radar Systems along with Aviation spares.

2021

Stock Purchases

CVC acquired 4 million Smiths Aerospace components.

New 300 square meter Gym Facility built on the site weekly one 2 one personal training sessions.

2022

Exciting Times

Plans underway to increase our storage capabilities.

Expanding our engineering facility.

09/08/2022 The owners of CVC Components have acquired DSIL, Defence Support International Ltd, the company was started by Stan Jobson in 1993, specialising in Rolls Royce marine spares, HAZ/IATA packaging and reverse engineering obsolete marine spares.
